Create official control plugins for Stream Deck software and equivalent #233

In Event Business people make sets of song data of minimum 16 songs or more.. we can only use 1 to 9 to select songs, i would be great when we can setup more hotkeys by example through a controller like Loupedeck CT or Louopedeck + or Loupedeck Live see: https://loupedeck.com/products/loupedeck-ct/

to get better live settings

Any keyboard input should work... If a device lets you set keys not present on typical keyboards, such as F13-F30 or higher, you can set those as shortcuts and have near unlimited places to skip to.

I will look more into the Loupedeck CT.

Hi Cuperino, thats a great option to use F13 to F30 or higher, now i need to find a controller that can setup this option... I find Stream Deck XL that can setup F13-24 i also will ask Loupedeck if they have this option to setup or maybe you have some suggestiins. Also can i use Qprompt on my Laptop and use by USB controllers as StreamDeck or Loupedeck that would be mine solution

Any model of StreamDeck will support setting F1 through F24 with a mouse, because it's a feature built into the Stream Deck software. I don't know if Loupedeck has this. If they don't, consider asking them to add this feature.

Yes, you can. I sometimes use QPrompt with a StreamDeck Plus, and control it's speed with one of its knobs. Any StreamDeck model works, and any Loupedeck model should too. I simply don't know if Loupedeck's software has the F13 - F24 feature.

You don't need an official plugin to it with either of these things. That would provide some convenience, so I've changed the title of this request to address that.

That's great news for me... so i gonna use Streamdeck to change songtitles on Events so we can work quickly and also i perfect option if i can setup tempo/speed by scrolling one of the knobs

Reply from Loupedeck: Thank you for reaching out. Our Loupedeck products offer customization options that allow you to set up hotkeys similar to what you've described, like assigning F13 to F24 or F30. You can achieve this through our Custom Action Shortcut feature.

To do this:

  1. Navigate to the Custom Actions - Keyboard Shortcut section.
  2. Select the specific button you wish to assign a hotkey to.
  3. Press the button to the record field, or choose it manually from the list.
  4. Record the desired F-keys (F13 to F24 or F30) within the software and save the configuration.

Does that mean i must set keys on my laptop as example P to a key as Hotkey F13 in Loupedeck or Streamdeck?

You said : you use and setup StreamDeck Plus, and control it's speed of Qprompt with one of its knob.. how you setup this exactly because this would be geat for live performance

No, you can set any key on QPrompt and that same key on the Loupedeck or Streamdeck to control QPrompt from that device. Having said that, F-keys are recommended because they aren't used for typing, which reduces chances of conflicting keys.

I can give more details later, but what I did was map rotate right to key down, rotate left to keyup, and pressed to spacebar. I'm thinking of developing a plugin for QPrompt, so people don't have to go through the trouble of mapping buttons, but this is low priority right now. I will first to implement remote control, to see if I could reuse that for this purpose, and avoid occupying keys that may be needed by other software.

Also, key bindings only work while QPrompt is in focus. In the next few months I should finish adding support for global hotkeys in the development branch, which will enable controlling QPrompt while other apps are in focus.

I cannot make any specific hardware recommendations. You should pick a monitor size based on the distance your host would be reading from, and other factors of your choice.

You can use a knob to adjust the speed by assigning to it the keys that correspond to increasing and reducing velocity on your keyboard. One knob can handle up to 2 keys at once. For a list of keys you can assign and modify, go to Main Menu > Control Settings > Keyboard Inputs.

Happy New Year and all the best I bought a Streamdesk + and setiing up Hot Keys is no Problem but i want to use a knob to control speed up and down which function you used in dashboard of Streamdesk

Now i se on my laptop > and <

QPrompt's key for fullscreen changes from one operating system to another. You can use the following link to learn about the keys used on Windows and any other operating system: https://doc.qt.io/qt-6/qkeysequence.html#standard-shortcuts
