keep getting "PNG converter" error, refuses to compile #255

What steps will reproduce the problem?

I'm trying to compile this file using latex-lab: http://is.gd/izWVXM

Other LaTeX compilers have no problem with it, so I don't think the issue is
with my source code.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I keep getting this error: "The PNG converter returned an error status of 1 No
compiled documents were produced." The compiler output doesn't seem to reveal
any serious errors, it outputs a DVI file at the end.

What version of the product are you using? On what browser?

Chrome v12 on a Windows 7 PC

I have the same problem on
Google Chrome 14.0.835.186 m
on Windows 7 64bit.

Strangely, I had no such problems with the same document yesterday, and if I
try to compile the Latex example file that comes up every time Latexlab is
opened, it compiles and shows without problems.

Questions:

1) Is there a problem with the latex file, or is this bug due to a temporary
server problem that perhaps could be reported in a better way? The user needs
to know this.

2) When the PNG error message comes up, there is no "exporting to PDF" link as
there usually is above the PNG pictures. I guess that the PDF is what most
people are after, not the PNG preview. If - as the reporter says above - a DVI
file is output at the end from the compiler, could it still also produce a pdf
file?
