  1. What is the budget per month (or per fiscal year) ?
  2. What is the cost of CloudFlare (billed per month? per year?) What are the terms of that engagement with CF?
  3. Do we agree on a network data center that is geographically somewhere in the eastern-time zone or central-time zone.. This will make latency with EU acceptable and latency with NA/SA/Oceana/Asia acceptable.

(SA = South America, Oceana - ham radio speak for the area west of NA and east of Asia -- NZ/AUS etc.. )

But the budget issue is the tent-pole we need to determine.

  1. Our previous plan was to pay yearly. It started at about $3,000 per year, but David negotiated it down to a little over $1,200 a few years ago due to the age of the hardware. With an upgrade and migration, we would likely be back up to the $3,000 per year ($250/month).
  2. Per David, CF is free. David will have more information on that.
  3. Yes, Eastern or Central time zones are preferred.

Adjust this per David's Discord guidance yesterday - server cost @ $1,000 or less annually.

Ok, budget noted, I'm going to probably recommend a bias for a ET or CT hosted (geolocation). I think OVH has some centers that will work.

What HW solutions satisfy our usage if we see an increase of 10% over the next two years, both in terms of actual usage as well as equipment reliability and technological advancements?
