Bulk Email Not Working

I've created three bulk emails to test the system and none have worked. Two were announcements of the impending downtime/upgrade/migration and the third was a test with just the mods and admins (to see if the number of recipients was a factor).

The system-generated emails to individuals are working - it's just the bulk emails that aren't working.

Setting issue most likely? Perhaps the "default" email that it is sending from?

I hope it's just a setting issue, but I haven't been able to find any (I've been through all of the settings several times now).

Two days in a row I've gotten a "test" email is that something someone here is sending out??

I set up a bulk email to all mods and admins, but the system says that hasn't been sent out yet. It's possible that it's an email initiated by the system as a result of one of the posts we're making during testing, but the "test" verbiage is far too vague for me to pinpoint any particular admin/mod/discussion (there are a ton of "test" posts being made).

Could just be some ones email was hacked and they are spam sending. I've not opened any of them and I don't think we have a Seth Williams as a mod/admin that would be sending them so I've binned them.

Sending bulk email is a problem. It's a problem without a simple solution.

A site that sends bulk email can be prevented from sending email for any other purpose due to the proliferation of lists that are maintained of sites that send bulk email.

The short answer is: don't let the new site send bulk email, and don't configure the beta site from ever sending bulk email. It would affect me personally by shutting off access to email for the other purposes I use for the site.
