Changing the town name seems to corrupt Island save data. This seems to be the only part of the save that when edited, causes this issue.
The change that I made is the capitalization of the first letter of the town's name. (EX: funville -> Funville)
Once speaking to Kappn and saying yes to going to the island, he will ask for the name of the island you want to go to as if the island hasn't been visited yet.
If you continue with setting the name of the island and going through Kappn's song, the two acres where the island exists will be void and the player will fall infinitely after docking the boat and hopping out.
