@Eurose209 please do not upload Xbe files directly as they are copyrighted material, instead provide the file Cxbx-Reloaded generates. Thanks.

1.02: Xbe.txt

Forgot to add that this is for the UK PAL version of the game.

Similar to Burnout Revenge (#192), this game displays the initial loading screen. And as with that game, the loading text is invisible, but briefly flickers into view every 10-20 seconds, though this time as one graphic instead of different parts flickering in. The thin blue lines appear, and the text is colored correctly this time, though unlike the Revenge loading text, this text uses a simple color as opposed to a gradient overlay. And like Revenge, the loading bar is missing its border.

This happened at a somewhat higher FPS (~15 vs. 5) and hangs at the same relative point. image

As of the latest build, the game now reaches the title screen before crashing, displaying only a part of the "A Criterion Games Production" text. The game progresses through the intro FMVs before this (audio only, audio cuts off early for each.) image The following error is displayed: image Admittedly, I am obsessed with this series, so if I'm posting too many of these updates, do tell me 😄.

Did this game get further than this before? I'm not sure about the reason for the regression label.

Voxel9 commented 6 years ago

Sorry lol, I misread it as "regressed" instead of "progressed". Been a long day...

escape209 commented 6 years ago

And ironically enough, this game has now regressed as of (though not due to) the latest PR, along with several other games. It now hangs at the initial loading screen again.

escape209 commented 6 years ago

Forgot to add here that the aforementioned regression has now been fixed, and as of the latest build, the game can progress up until (but not to) the car select screen, with very broken menu graphics. It crashes with this error:

Interestingly enough, I initially forgot to enable LLE, and fount that the game can also progress to the same point with LLE disabled at full speed, albeit with no graphics at all. With LLE disabled, it crashes with this error instead: image

Burnout 3 now reaches the car select screen, even displaying some of the traffic cones and a part of the Compact Type 1's model before crashing.

Starts to load, then says there is a problem with the disc you are using. It may be dirty or damaged.
