Please verify that the game dumps you're using are unmodified (ex. no region free hacks or anti-piracy bypasses). The program you're using may add them automatically, the best way to do it would be to FTP the files directly from your Xbox.

"Use Hardware Video Mode" Issue. Mine does the same thing. But, when I place my CXBX-R Emulator to "Use Hardware Video Mode" It stays in the Sega GT Online Title screen. But the Audio System is still Excellent. But, when I try to get through the "Car Maker Selection" screen, It crashes. & then it kicks me out. I heard that 'Error' Sound, but I never can see the message. It just letting me know that, It just crashed. (By using "Use Hardware Video Mode.")

Windowed Mode Issue. But in the Windowed Mode, this what it usually happens. When I pressed start, the screen goes black then when I get to the "Car Maker Selection" screen, you'll these weird particles on the black screen as well. But, you can still hear the Audio System playing beautifully. But, when you get through the "Car Maker Selection" screen, more likely, It still showed me the same message. But, I still never can get a chance to see it for some reason. It just crashes and then kicks me out by using the Windowed Mode as well. So I'm guessing that's the same 'Error' Message from that 'Error' Sound, that I've been hearing.

Either way, It boots Beautifully at my end, too. :+1:

Fixed xbe dump should be unmodified now

SonicAdventureX commented 6 years ago

Cool, okay. How should I check to see is it unmodified or not?

hinksta47 commented 6 years ago

The game works with pixel shaders disabled capture1 capture2

SonicAdventureX commented 6 years ago

@hinksta47 I did what you just said and you're a genius. But how can I get mines to look like yours? Yours at is the topics right now. Mine has particles shapes as cars. but when I get to the game play, most Objects and everything else including the cars themselves are made out of particles also. But I have to say, BIG thanks to you for telling the shading disable settings. That was a big help. So I followed your page as my Huge Thanks.

@SonicThePS4 you're using a build of the emulator a month old: try a more recent build, the one in the screenshot above is a few weeks newer than the build your screenshot is from, so it's not surprising the results are different/worse

SonicAdventureX commented 6 years ago

@LukeUsher Thank you Thank you So Much. You're a hero. This latest version is such'a breathe taking. I tried Jet Set Radio Future. I can't even describe on how excellent that looks on my low PC.

The good news is that Group S Challenge is looking beautiful right now when it comes to coloring lighting. But the bad news is that Sega GT Online having this fatal error again.

This new latest build is amazing specially for Smashing Drive and Dead Or Alive 3. But when I tried to go to a showroom on Sega GT Online, this happened when it tried to show out some cars.

Can you test this game again (both before and after that HLSL PR merge)? A couple YouTubers have tested this game and shown it to be working ingame in the past 2 months. It has performance issues, though.
