CBLoader not opening. Occurred after virus clean #103

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.double-click on Cbloader.
2.Suddenly shuts down.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect the program to begin searching for updated .part files, instead, it
shuts down with a window saying "CBLoader has stopped working"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Most recent on Windows 7

Please provide any additional information below.
Had a virus attack a few days ago, has been cleared.

Also, restarting Windows does not help.

Neither does reinstalling both CBLoader AND CharacterBuilder.

And now CB give me an error message when I exit.

Please help me fix this, it just doesn't open up, and there is absolutely no
reason for it AFAICT. It just doesn't work, and reinstalling did absolutely
nothing.

Please, I am losing my mind over this.

I had a very similar problem after fixing a malware attack. I tried to
reinstall several times to no avail, but was finally able to fix the issue by
going back into my %appdata%\Roaming\CBLoader folder and unhiding all of the
files. For some reason the attack had set all of these files to hidden and the
application was unable to find them until I changed the attributes back.

This is odd. Were they just hidden, or had they been set to read-only as well?
