In an ideal world, everyone would eat the best food available at all times. And that will probably be the case once food spoilage comes in. For now, our gates are working inconsistent though:
the last issue we're experiencing is that you have to prepare 24h before you attain a new skill of a higher SP gate (e.g. Oil Drilling) by upping your multiplier. This forces you to spend high-tier labor while still doing a low-tier job, effectively causing you to use a lot more high tier food than the intended "you do 1000 oil drilling labor you eat 1000 calories of high stuff".
To remove this issue, which was one of the most complained about issues, a mod that reintroduces puking would be good. With it, the stomach contents could be emptied and therefore no preparation for high tier labor needed.
