Yes there is a new version but for me it works as before, no problem starting Can you try reinstalling WhatsApp?
Just restored backup, before restoring disconnected network cable and WiFi. Whatsapp naturally did not start as it complained about internet access. Before anything else happened I copied Whatsapp folders from Local and Roaming. Then re-connected the network cable and restarted Whatsapp, in just a few moments the new version was downloaded, however not applied yet. I noticed update.exe file in the Whatsapp folder, so I deleted it and the 2.2130.9 folder. Since then (3 days) no new version of Whatsapp gets downloaded and Whatstray works fine.
I will close this for now. If this is a problem again reopen the issue.
I think WhatsApp updated yesterday to version 2.2130.9 and now WhatsappTray can't launch it?

What's up with WhatsApp? Will try now to roll back from yesterda's back up and see whether it works
