Using the latest desktop version of Whatsapp v.2.2228.4 (from the download link not the store) located in %UserProfile% \AppData\Local\WhatsApp.
The icon shown in the System Tray is always just this generic windows system icon shown in image not the custom WhatsApp icon as expected.
Toggling SHOW_UNREAD_MESSAGES=1 has no effect.

In all other ways this incredibly useful app appears to be working perfectly.
I have tried rebuilding windows icon cache.
If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this I would very much appreciate it :)
