Feature request: unread message notification on tray icon #25

Hi,

This is a great little enhancement to Whatsapp Desktop! I had a suggestion which I imagine is on the to-do list, but still, noting my interest - when a message comes through, the icon in the notification tray remains unchanged, whereas when Whatsapp minimises to taskbar, a message coming through would cause the taskbar icon to update with a little unread message count.

Is it possible to implement a similar unread count feature on the notification icon? Doesn't have to be a count - even just a red dot like you get on apps with updates in Android would be great.

Thanks!

Hi I fully agree with you that this would be nice. Unfortunatly this is not easy to implement but im working on it. There is already a issue open with this feature request #16. I merge this with the other issue.

Ah! apologies, I missed that. Glad it's on the wish list, even if it does ultimately prove too hard to implement. Thanks!

Excellent work! But cosmetics could better, is barely readable :) Check Telegram for comparison: imagen

I like the feature but is not working properly in my machine. It shows a lot of unread messages when there's none. Sometimes I open it for the first time in the day and no one messages me, yet it suddenly shows 1, or even 6. I'm using version 1.4.3.0 on Windows 10.
