Here are my recommendations for the citation of sources.

Sources of Information DACS 2.7.4 Assemble the information from reliable sources, such as the materials themselves and reference works. Establish a consistent policy regarding the content, form, and placement of citation of sources and quotations.

Placement of citation of sources: List the source(s) used in compiling the Administrative/Biographical History under the main text, preceded by ‘Reference:’ or ‘References:’.

Local references - Use standard phrases: Compiled from the collection Compiled from the Library’s acquisition file Library correspondence file

Published sources - Use Chicago Manual of Style (which is also used within RDA) See examples of Bibliography entries (17th edition): https://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide/citation-guide-1.html

Book example: Jones, David J., and Library Council of New South Wales. A Source of Inspiration & Delight: The Buildings of the State Library of New South Wales since 1826. Sydney: Library Council of New South Wales, 1988.

[Tip: find the catalogue record in Primo for the published source and click on Citation. Choose Chicago/Turabian (16th edition). The citation provided will need some adjustment to conform to the example above (i.e. remove the statement of responsibility '/ David J. Jones' after the title) Jones, David J., and Library Council of New South Wales. A Source of Inspiration & Delight : The Buildings of the State Library of New South Wales since 1826 / David J. Jones. Sydney: Library Council of New South Wales, 1988.]

Electronic source example 1: Lawn, Meredith. “Hill, Mirrie Irma Jaffa (1889–1986).” Australian Dictionary of Biography. Accessed 9 September 2020. http://adb.anu.edu.au/biography/hill-mirrie-irma-jaffa-12637/text22769. Local rule: express access date in the form day-month-year.

[Tip: The citation provided by the ADB online is not in Chicago style and will need some adjustment to conform to the example above. The URL can be used as it is a permalink (confirmed in email from Christine Fernon, Online Manager, National Centre of Biography, to Ed Vesterberg, 4 June 2020).]
