Abstract

This course offers a comprehensive understanding of cultural heritage data modelling, focusing on structuring and documenting information for Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAMs). Participants learn to represent information using entities and relationships, exploiting domain-specific metadata standards. The course delves into the Europeana Data Model (EDM) for organizing and describing cultural heritage data and demonstrates its use with examples based on a fictional academic persona, Dr. Lorena. It also highlights the importance of data model structure for reusing data and metadata.

Hi Vicky - this all looks fine, and those authors are already in on the system, so you can proceed to drafting this resource up now.

Just one note - I would think about combining some of those learning outcomes a little so there are maybe just 3 or 4 in total. For example, you could combine 3&4 to read something like "...understand what metadata are and their significance in data reuse" - that sort of thing.

Thanks!
