The DATEX II & TN-ITS Technical Alignment Taskforce observed the different use of the concept of Codelists in TN-ITS versus Enumerations in DATEX II. They noted that recent DATEX II coding already departed from strict use of Enumerations in cases where the list of permissible values is governed by other standards or organisations (e.g. ISO 3166 – country codes). It was therefore concluded to analyse the possibility of introducing a metadata concept “D2Codelist” in the next generation DATEX II Methodology. So, there is no conceptual difference anymore. How intensive the use of this concept is going to be in refactoring the DATEX II models in v4 is going to be discussed during the work items in Systematic Review.
Done: 6.5.1 Figure 4 depicts the stereotype “D2Datatype” used in general for defining DATEX II datatypes. External datatypes may also be used by declaring them using the “ExternalType” stereotype. The stereotype “D2Codelist” is introduced for datatypes that represent externally maintained lists of codes.
