1 month ago The issue is important. Especially there is a need for a decision of principle about the fact the location referencing systems of DATEX II have to reflect these evolutions. An initial review of these references shows:
- Several currently normative references are actually only informative according to the clarifications brought by CEN and ISO about these concepts;
- EN ISO 14819-1 & 14819-3: revised in 2021. Actually the current text does not make them normative but it would be logic to adapt the text of EN 16157-2 to keep the normative character. The new version does not imply any change in the data model apparently;
- EN ISO 14825: replaced in 2023 by EN ISO 20524-1 & 20524-2: used for two concepts ("FormOfWay" & "FunctionalRoadClass") and the corresponding enumerations still present in EN ISO 20524-1. The modification is limited.
- EN 16803: a first exchange with JTC 5/WG 1 shows the new version does not imply to modify the current data model part. However, it looks appropriate to only keep the "accuracyPercentile95" to keep consistency with the ETSI ellipses and the GNSS extension that only retain this latter percentile value;
- EN ISO 19148: revised in 2021: the changes seems rather important and need to be analysed more in depth;
- A similar clean-up of informative references (in Bibliography) is also to undertake. Especially, ETSI TS 102894-2 has got a new version in 2022;
- IEC 62106 is incorrectly named as "EN 62106".
Note: this issue goes beyond the only Part 2 of the CEN 16157 series and should be undertaken by the different project editors.
Bug description?
The published version of EN 16157-2 dealing with location referencing contains a lot normative references which complement this Part 2 as a whole. Some of these references are dated, some other not. Among them, there are the different standards or technical specifications that define the different location referencing systems.
Since the publication of Part 2 several documents have been revised and published. E.g. one can mention EN ISO 19148 a new version of which was published in 2021. It is therefore necessary to at least assess if the newly published versions impact the content of the data model, the corresponding dictionary or the standard.
Note: when a normative reference is dated, it means a given subclause, figure or table is cited. It is necessary to check if the reference is still valid. EN 16157-2 also has two informative annexes detailing location referencing systems extracted from some of the aforementioned documents.
