Windows 8: When "change the size of all items" set to Medium, Start menu cut off

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use Windows 8
2. Right click the desktop, go to "Make text andother items larger or smaller"
3. Select Medium. This is my elderly father's computer. Logoff, log back in.
4. Observe the start button being cut off, nearly cut in half. See attached 
screenshot.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Full start menu should appear. Instead, icons like Sleep, hibernate, etc are 
too low.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
V1.2.1.0 on Windows 8
