Trook menu re-arrangement? #17

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

I found the trook menu items are too large and them are across one screen
page. Every time to stop the trook, I have to scroll to the click "Stop
application"

1.If they are re-arranged so that all menu items could be shown on one
screen page, unnecessary scrolling would be avoided. For example, menu
items could be arranged as mXn grid.

2. Currently, one short click on the gear icon shows the virtual keyboard
for "Open feed URL"; one long click shows the menu. I think it better to
also make "Open feed URL" a menu item.

3. Since webpages are not optimized for nook. For example, sometimes, the
right part of a webpage would not be shown in E-link screen. Is it
possible to add some logic so that users can move (left and right) the
content shown in E-link screen for a better view?

#1 & #2 -- good idea; I'm hoping to redo that area over the next few releases,
roughly the hope is that I can "flip" the screen so you have all the settings
on the
back side, but we'll see how that goes.

#3 -- probably the simplest thing at the moment would be to spawn the
nookBrowser
when it's also installed (which it typically is, for the current set of
softroots)

rev 53 replaces menu with a flip-around screen that scrolls horizontally like
the
rest of trook -- hopefully this addresses some of the clumsy menu.

About spawning off nookBrowser -- it looks like hari did add this, but removed
it
because some trook users preferred to load the page in the background (this
trick
would just bring the browser in the background.) So, let me open a new issue
about
better browsing, and close out this one.
