Trook updates. #41

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

As new updates have not been forthcoming recently, I have started updating this
project to suit my needs.

Included in this version are fixes for the following issues:
   1. Calibre Feeds cannot be parsed
   2. Authenticated Feeds cannot be used
   3. Search feeds doesn't work (sometimes)
   4. Duplicate files are created when you download the same file twice. Now you get a setting screen and a dialog box.

This code in conjunction with the code in attached to the following issue will
go a long way to improving your experience. Thank you GOMAR.

The zip file attached has a compiled version of it. It's icon has been updated
so it will not look quite right on your nook but will work fine. Feel free to
just apply the code changes I mentioned above to the version 74 of the source
trunk here if you want it to match the rest of your icons.

I have tried this, and it seems to work as well as the "official" r68 -- it
doesn't seem to work...

Setup is a Windows 7 64-bit system with calibre 0.7.x installed (currently
0.7.10). I am running the standalone content server with authentication.

Trying to access my calibre library with this version returns a parsing error
(can't be more exact really as the error message doesn't show for very long).

I am using the url http://username:password@server-ip:8080/stanza (and opds)

I have tried copying a modified opds.py into my content server folder to no
apparent result. I just get the same error message whether I use it or not.

I have the issue with trook not able to parse the calibre feed.

Keen to install the update provided in C8.

Can someone help me out with this? I assume I need to use ADB from the Android
SDK.

Is the process documented anywhere?

thanks.

Do you uninstall the old version first?

Original comment by richard....@gmail.com on 3 Aug 2010 at 3:33

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
yes, any other nook app. You must uninstall the old version prior to installing
the new version.

We do not do nook techsupport here, your best bet is the IRC channel (details
on the nookdevs.com site).

I suggest you download and install the nookMarket application from within Trook
(go to the nookDevs feed from trook's main page). Then, open nookMarket and
longClick the trook app to uninstall it. Then reinstall it from within
nookMarket.

richard, if you are using the latest 2.4.1 softroot, note that its new default
behavior is to allow adb over USB only due to the security risk of allowing adb
over wifi.

is there a way to get calibre news feeds on a timer? in other words, i want my
nook to wake up and download the news feeds all by it self (or only when i wake
it up) in any case some way to automate it more?
