Official / Unofficial Content #18

Open up the site to everyone, downloads, articles, images but categorise them into "official / unofficial".

Unofficial stuff is displayed secondary, but is still there. It may also not trigger alerts and updates. Requested by: http://www.moddb.com/members/xylemon

What would be categorised as unofficial? What exactly would it entail? This could impact some of the mod-related/fanmade content negatively, as the notification system is lifeblood of the network, and being notified by unofficial content such as maps/mods added to someone's indie profile page is still vital.

The question is whether there would be any separate section (on the game/mod/engine page) for the "unofficial" content to be displayed. For example an image gallery holding fanmade screenshots.

Also, this could supercede Community Permissions as many pages are either too open (for trolls, spamlinking, etc) or too closed (for legitimate outside contributors).
