Hide news content till definded date #30

Parts of the news (images, videos) are directly visible on the profile without the context of the news which might lead to misunderstanding and also reduces the suprise. Would be great to be able to hide the content till the news is authorized.

We've got timed news posts coded in (just like downloads) but the feature is currently turned off. We are worried about an influx of low quality posts on our homepage as we get a ton and try to prioritize those who put in the effort

Great to hear that this suggestion was already taken in consideration. :) I didn't intend to create a workaround to the auth system. I was thinking about this:

  1. Creating a news with all content hidden
  2. The creator can choose if the news should be published right after authorization or should stay hidden till a certain date
  3. The news gets authorized 2a. The news gets published right away 2b. The news stay hidden till date X

News that is displayed only when a certain date/time is reached sounds cool, actually. As long as it has to be pre-authed or pre-archived it should be fine.
