Line written against fibers should really go on the div and not each individual line. I do not fancy having to enter e.g. (1, against), (2, against), (3, against) etc for each and every line. Are only going to encode (1, against) and not (1, with)? The information is not in the category of @rend, I would have thought. rend for ekthesis, eisthesis etc is a rendition of a line. Lines against the fibres describes the lines in relation to an aspect of the material they are written on. I think that is different. @hcayless @paregorios @gabrielbodard or am I seeing problems where I should not see them.
@jcowey that sounds sensible to me; we'll have to figure out how to encode
I am pretty sure that we had considered putting the info on the div at some stage in the past. We have to tackle Leiden+ for divs because of xml:ids on divs. So 1) what mark up do we use; 2) create the Leiden+ for it.
Tasks:
<div type="textpart">
.So, @jcowey I found this unattributed note in the LitPapText spreadsheet regarding the question of marking "across the fibers". Your thoughts?
Actually this is useless since there are other ways to indicate lines written with a different orientation than the "standard" one (i.e. perpendicular)
Per @jcowey and @rla2118 we need this, and it should be at a div level.
Add "Line written against the fibers" to Leiden+ grammar.
