Position and duration for chords on the basis of crotchets #21

In both versions of the script, the position (beat) of the annotations was given according to crotchet measurements. This seems mathematically consistent but musically 'weird' in bars based on quaver or dotted crotchet pulses, ie. 3/8, 6/8, 9/8 and 12/8. Also, in order to be able to compare pieces in different time signatures and see where the chords appear, we have needed to make adjustments between 2/4 and 4/4 pieces (I mean a 2nd beat in a 2/4 doesn't have the same metric strength or salience as the 2nd in a 4/4). So what do you think about indicating beat and duration info according to the length of the bar (additionally or instead)? For instance, a crotchet in a 4/4 would appear as 1/4, but as 1/3 in a 6/8.

This feature is not related to the annotation standard but to the way it's processed. (At the moment, the processing is considered somehow external to the standard, should we change this @MFNeuwirth and @fabianmoss ?) Actually I had already considered adding (and have done it before) a column with float positions, so that the beats of measure 8 would look like this:

Is that what you're looking for?

Yes.
