Have Tab that either Bans or Selects units based on PlaneBomber, PlaneInterceptor, etc.. BR can pre-select units based on Coalition and period. But this should give players flexibility on which units they want on their missions (i.e., Intercepting a super secret new Allied bomber (a B-52), or play topgun with just Tomcats and Mig28s (F-5). This gives flexibility and somewhat eliminates the need to update the Coalition and Period of each unit (AI and Client).
If the player is fine with the default, they can just leave the pre-selection as it is and generate a mission.

Why can't it be done in the ME quickly:
Eliminates the need to edit units in ME
