Problem with display of "related English words" on dev1 for compounds #449

For compounds, this is what we see: "Show English Translation" -- grayed out

rather than what we should be seeing, "Show Related English Words" (clickable) e.g.:

Here is a case where the label on top is correct, but grayed out (incorrectly): ns-#...

This problem seems to systematically affect all loan signs, in fact (starting with #), e.g.

Note that it should be possible to open this window even if there are no English words yet defined... so that they could be entered. That is what happens on this part of the site (although the field does not appear to be editable):

and clicking on "update translation" there causes a crash!
