Need a Temporal Quantization for Date/Time Data

What will the enhancement do?

  -) Set a temporal resolution for date/time data.  For instance, it will truncate all time data from a date datatype column in a table, giving a temporal resolution of 1 day.

How is this currently done or handled?

  -) This can be done with a check constraint.  However, the check constraint is unable to repair data, similar to the way case folding can repair data.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

  -) Pre-Release 0.12
