RSEs and RDMs are similar? #53

The text currently contains the text "In contrast to most other organisations mentioned within this section, the requirements on their respective members and members of an RSE group are so similar that organisations might consider focus on one merged RSE \& FDM department."

I don't quite agree here. Thinking of my own team I do have members that are excellent in either RDM or RSE, but it would not be a good idea to swap their tasks; their requirements are too different

I suggest to shift the focus here not so much on similarities of their requirements, but that their tasks often benefit from a background in both (e.g. because researchers often come with problems in both RSE and RDM), and precisely because there is hardly anyone that can handle both in the necessary depth (and wouldn't be able to handle the load alone anyway), a close collaboration between RSE and FDM teams/persons is beneficial for everyone, and most of all for the researcher that is helped.

I also stumbled over that sentence while working on #44 and agree that this should be reformulated as you propose.
