We should provide guidance on establishing development environments, in particular covering which "common" environments are already available for use (as people might not know about them).

We have the 4 environments - Dev, Test, PreProd and Prod. But in "Normal" places would the devs define this ? Or would Ops? SO not sure this should even be here.

This currently feels like Ops turf.

I think this is also subjective. For example in FFC we don't have Dev, Test, PreProd and Prod. We will have Sandpit, Non Prod which is made up multiple ephemeral environments we will spin up on demand using infrastructure as code and Production.

I don't think there's value in cataloguing all our environments because someone else already should have that.
