We are just implementing as you point out. We are updating tinyxml2. Denso_robot_ros for melodic will be released before long. Please wait until then.
Are there any news on the melodic release yet? I am about to set up a new VS050 with ROS and I would like to do it in melodic, so that I do not need to migrate/update everything at a later point in time.

@LnBdd Sorry for the delay in informing you. We have released the denso_robot_ros for melodic. https://github.com/DENSORobot/denso_robot_ros/tree/feature/melodic-devel In this branch, some issues posted here are improved. Please see the CHANGELOG for details.
this is another imprementation for melodic compile. As @haraisao explained https://github.com/DENSORobot/denso_robot_ros/issues/27#issuecomment-589495455, we need to udpate to tinyxml2.
