A few months ago, we decided that when naming the new services, we would use the same domain for all services.
register-early-career-teachers.education.gov.uk would be the URL for schools, and any other sign ins for services we had to build for other user groups, would be on that same domain but linked to differently.
For example, we hypothesised appropriate bodies when wanting to check training data could use something like register-early-career-teachers.gov.uk/appropriate-bodies, or /check-training-details.
We also hypothesised that the name of the service pointed towards appropriate bodies could differ, even if that is the domain. This follows other similar services like Apply VS manage teacher training.
So, for example, the service name on each page for appropriate bodies could be Register early career teacher inductions.
We wanted to use Register early career teachers because it was future proof, for when schools might later register induction themselves.
We need to think about the service name shown for appropriate bodies for the new service where they will submit induction data. It probably shouldn't just be Register early career teachers, as that might get confusing.
What?
Decide a name for the service replacing the AB portal
Agree we're happy to continue using the register-early-career-teachers domain for the AB portal replacement
Out of scope
Let's not worry about checking training details for now. WE can always edit the service name for ABs later, as it's not on the domain.
