A mentor may or may not be eligible for mentor training (e.g. depending on if they've completed the training already etc). We also know that schools do not have a good understanding of what mentor training is and what it involves.
In the 'Add mentor' journey, we want to consider playing back information on the mentor's eligibility for mentor training and what they can expect in terms of next steps for this once they're registered.
Reasons for this include:
Schools might assume that all mentors are eligible for funding when this isn't the case
We want to avoid confusion around why some mentors are asking about training choices and others not
If a mentor is not eligible, it is useful for the school to know that they don't need to free up the 36 hours time off timetable for mentor training
We want to be clear on what they mentor should expect next - provider to contact them either to give access to their ECT's materials or also to receive mentor training
What?
Consider options for playing back mentor training eligibility - e.g. in the add ECT journey, on the confirmation page, or after?
Consider content for mentor training eligibility
Consider the scenario where the mentor being added is still being trained as an ECT - they wouldn't be eligible for mentor training funding
