View depth #306

There has been a request to show the depth of the ocean at a point. The way I see it there are a few options, we could show it when plotting a point or we could do it when you click on the map (not creating a plot). I think the latter might be better but I'm interested in getting some feed back.

I agree, I think showing it in the balloon when you click on the map would be best.

Nabil has concerns over confusion about the variable depth vs the actual depth at that point, he thinks an idea might be to show the depth on the bathymetry lines, but wants to wait to get feedback from fraser.

we need to be careful about showing it on the bathymetry lines. when we show it in downloaded images it gets messy, see issue #89 SVG bathymetry numbers I'm not saying it's a bad idea though.

It is a good point that there could be confusion about what the value in the buble would mean. I would lable it a "max depth" or "max ocean depth" but it may be better to just state it when a point plot is created (which the user would be fine with).

I see what you mean, we can look at the options on Tuesday(tmr)
