Google Earth Engine? #1

Just a thought:

All the MODIS sources required for this model are already available on Google Earth Engine (GEE). The only missing data source is ERA-Interim. Also, the calculations are rather simple, as far as I can see - no special high-level algorithms involved, just a lot of arithmetic.

So this would be rather straightforward to implement in Google Earth Engine. You could get rid of a lot of code required for downloading the data and could compute ET for any region in the world (or the whole world) via some simple we app.

The development effort is slightly larger, but the result would be very powerful.

What are your thoughts on this, @gmendiguren and @mads-gras?
