We got an email notifying us that the Xenial build image will fail after November 15, 22. We will need to choose another build image for the websites.

Email:

Deprecation notice: Netlify builds using the Xenial build image will fail after November 15, 2022

Deprecation notice: Netlify builds using the Xenial build image will fail after November 15, 2022 The Netlify build system maintains multiple build images, which set the environment in which your sites build. One or more of your sites is using the “Xenial” image, built on Ubuntu 16.04 (“Xenial Xerus”). Ubuntu Xenial finished its Long Term Support period in 2021 and is no longer supported by Canonical, a 3rd party company that provides official ubuntu support. This means no new bug fixes and security updates, nor new versions of included software.

On November 15, 2022, we will end all support for the Netlify Xenial image. We have identified the following impacted sites belonging to your team DIAG Webteam Deploy bot 's team:

vigilant-curie-52181d infallible-fermat-f691ac xenodochial-mirzakhani-0b146c clever-bardeen-85dc71 elated-yalow-16240a adoring-montalcini-3701b3 gifted-bartik-d876b0

Select a site name above to access specific site settings in the Netlify UI where you can change the site’s build image.

For more information about changes between images, a timeline, how to run a test build, and how to troubleshoot issues with upgrading, please visit the Xenial build image migration guide in the Netlify Support Forums.

If you have any questions, feel free to post a reply to the migration guide, where Netlify staff and community members are always happy to help!

This seems not to be relevant for us because we deploy via github actions. Instructions for changing the build image are: Site settings > Build & deploy > Continuous Deployment > Build image selection, However, under Continuous Deployment, we don't have repositories linked, because we build and deploy via GitHub actions.

It might be good to email netlify and ask why our sites were identified

However, because we have a free plan we don't have private email support.

Other people have the same question as us (why sites were identified though using manual/external deploy). Discussion can be followed here:

Netlify verified that they sent emails to users that may not have been affected. We are not affected because we use github actions.
