For example, a group of collectors with an active period and probably an geographic area.

ordering of agents within group
role of agent within context of group (eg primary collector, secondary collector)
a verbatim representation of group membership because not all strings will yet have agent records nor consistent separators
tags for the group to know the context for how it's used (eg publication, collecting party)

Two different stories here:

grouping agents
attributes like: active period and geographic area

The attributes should be also applicable for individuals. Agents could than be grouped by their attributes. But this must not confused with actual groups of people which would be a separate agent record.
