Francesca oder du moderieren, vorne dran steht der Name der jetzigen Kategorie/des Projekts und ein QR oder kahoot code) Ein Announcement oder Blatt den Jurymitgliedern oder den Projekten schicken, prerecorded Videos so zusammenschneiden, dass es aussieht alsob sie es weiterreichen (zb. als Intro Video) am Schluss virtuell mit Champagner anstossen oder ähnliches Videos, die das Projekt beschreiben am Anfang der jeweiligen Kategorieverleihung Audience tweets with photos were featured during the live show in order to involve the audience. This included pets wearing crowns, a celebration award cake, kids watching with their families and finalists in branded t-shirts and bow ties. This was an engaging and lively element of the show. We also encouraged the audience to comment in the YouTube chat box which proved popular.

DINAcon 2020 Awards: Very Radical edition

The DINAcon event is an annual event organized by the Research Centre Digital Sustainability of the University of Bern. This year's edition is exceptionally held online due to current travel restrictions. The online event will offer a series of online presentations and lightening talks, as well as the DINAcon Awards and a virtual Hacknight. The DINAcon Awards are annually awarded to people or communities who make a difference in the Free Software, Open Data and Digital Sustainability domain. In this document we are brainstorming some ways to "funk up the style" and make up for the inability to celebrate on location with an online experience.

Ideas

IDEA 0. Video conference

A video conference room with nominees being presented by a speaker. The presentation and all interactions happen using slides and video & audio in a typical videoconference setting.

IDEA 1: virtual reality

Set up an interactive session using an open source virtual reality meeting platform, and stream content (audio & video) to BBB using a virtual camera/cameraperson.

Mozilla Hubs 👉 https://hubs.mozilla.com

pro: fun, unexpected, highly interactive con: maybe too complex for first timers to participate

IDEA 2: flatland with avatars

Instead of having a three dimensional meeting room, we could do the ceremony in two dimensions, which is easier to interact with and still provides a quirky experience. Almost everyone knows top down or isometric games (e.g. The Sims ...) where movement is point-and-click or with arrow keys.
