The problem happens only sometimes, it is like lottery, but is really annoying because if you forget to low the volume of your speakers and the issue happens then your ears blow away.
Please share a project that has such an issue.
It is very likely a bug in some module.
It's weird because right now none of the projects are creating problems. But as I said before is only sometimes when you got scared by the noise.
Those are two of my projects presenting problems hours ago:
also some downloaded project caused me the same problem.
Can you try this with the latest nightly build? There have been some fixes on uninitialized values which should improve these kind of behaviors.
I've tried with the last nightly build and still same problem.
I noticed the same thing when running cardinal in carla. I suspect that pipewire might have something to do with it? the noice stops when you open the GUI of cardinal. In my project I send a piano through cardinal for reverb (Plateau best reverb) with some delay shenanigans. There is a loud noice, I think plays some random buffer until the gui is opened, after that it sounds normal as expected.
please try with latest 24.04 and let us know if it is now fixed, thanks!
Platform: Ableton Live 11 on MacOS Monterrey
The issue is when you open a saved project on Live that contains any Cardinal Synth (AU or VST3) starts making lot of noise that you only can stop opening the plugin. So you need to be very careful with your speakers/ears when opening a project.
When you load a preset of Cardinal Synth in a track same problem happens.
