I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 focal I compiled it, copied DISTRHO-Ports/build/ports/vitalium.lv2 over to ~/.lv2 loaded vitalium in Carla and it worked, but i noticed it crashes when i load specific presets every time (I copied the presets from the Vital dir to Vitalium dir)

'Special Glitch Thing' 'FM Drum Circle' 'Growl Bass Sidechain' 'Strings Section' 'VLT Future Gun'

Please upload here one of these presets, I do not have access to those otherwise.

I'n not sure if it is allowed to upload, but they are available in the original free version of Vital

falkTX commented 3 years ago

that requires registration and all that stuff.. I never ran the vital "official" build

I can confirm the crash (vital 1.0.8, vitalium from arch distrho-ports 2021.03.15). I've linked my vital and vitalium folders together for easy sharing.

Indeed I believe the "built-in", downloaded, presets can't be re-shared, not even the free ones.

I made some tweaks to "Strings section" and re-saved it; that still crashed vitalium. I'll report back if I discover more.

By the way, Michael Wynne, the original creator of the "Strings Section" preset, has a youtube video where he explains the preset; perhaps recreating it from there might help.

I've taken the Strings Section preset, cleared the modulation matrix, reinitialized all oscillators, and disabled all effects. This still crashes Vitalium (but loads fine in Vital), so whichever "dirty" state was there is still present. However, now I'm pretty sure it's OK to share here:
