As a driver of the car I want the car to automatically brake until the car is standing still if the car is moving forward towards a potential collision so that the car minimizes the risk of a collision.
Acceptance criteria
Original acceptance criteria (not successfully implemented)
The car will come to a complete stop one car length before the object.
The car will not be able to drive forward when an object is with one car length in front of the car. In this case the car can only drive backwards.
Updated acceptance criteria (as per 9 April)
The car will start breaking at the distance of 100 cm before an obstacle and come to a complete stop before colliding.
The car will not be able to drive forward when an object is within a distance of 100 cm in front of the car. In this case, the car moves automatically backwards out of that range.
We decided to update the acceptance criteria because a) we did not manage to find the exact length of the car to use as a point of measure and b) we found that the ultimate breaking point was dependent on the speed of the car and it would vary with the speed mode.
Thus we decided that the exact distance from the object when the car was to stop was irrelevant as long as it had time to stop before collision.
