Cannot install the addon in blender #76

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I download the zip file of the SMD tools
2. Install the addon through the user preferences
3. Attempt to check the box next to the SMD tools

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I should be able to click the check box next to SMD tools addon.  The box seems 
disabled when I try to select it.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Blender 2.63

Please provide any additional information below.

Working on a mac.

This occurs with io_smd_tools-1.6.5.zip

You need to use the latest version of Blender, 2.66.
