AnySim and 1.1.2, I'm confused #312

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Update from 1.0.2 to 1.1.2 after preparing with iNdependence (anysim,
jailbreak, ssh etc.)
2. Activate and Jailbreak
3. All traces of Anysim have been wiped out, running anysim in 1.1.2 kills the
phone

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected Anysim to still be active, or for it to work in 1.1.2. I now see
Anysim doesn't work in
1.1.2 but can't figure out how to keep it alive from 1.0.2...

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
iNdependence 1.3.1. Mac Tiger on an older iBook

Please provide any additional information below.
Had the iPhone working great in 1.0.2. Wanted to upgrade to 1.1.2 but when I
couldn't put in
my sim, I mistakenly ran Anysim again in 1.1.2. Big mistake! iPhone was dead.
 Brought it back
to life and reinstalled 1.0.2. Would love to know the correct way to get to
1.1.2 and still have the
phone work.

Anyone who can help me?

Cheers,

Jim

Did you heed the warning about putting your phone in Airplane mode before
running anySIM on 1.1.2?

Also, it's been noted elsewhere that anySIM 1.2 isn't intended to be run under
firmware 1.1.2, so you may need
to upgrade to 1.1.2, then downgrade back to 1.0.2, install and run anySIM under
1.0.2, then upgrade to 1.1.2
again.

Yes, things are a bit of a mess with anySIM. Have a read through the
iPhone-Elite page for details.

Okay, making progress. My mistake before was I used Anysim 1.1 not 1.2.1u when
I was in iPhone v 1.0.2.

This was wiped out when I updated, so I killed it using Anysim in 1.1.2 (didn't
know about using airplane
mode.)

So I went back to 1.0.2, used the new Anysim, went back up to 1.1.2 and it
works!

Only problem is that the anything I do in the phone section crashes. Push any
number or the RECENT button
and it crashes back to home. Can't dial out, can't get incoming, though it
does show I have a missed call
afterwards. I see this in home, there is a 1 on the phone icon.

Anyone know what the deal is?

Thanks!

Jim

All fixed now. Happily using 1.1.2 in Australia.

The answer is to use INSTALLER (hard to find) to install iWorld (easy to find)
and
this fixes the dialer problem.

Working great!

Great program!
