Phone dialer crash in 1.1.2 #319

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. upgrade to 1.1.2 after using Anysim 1.2.1u in 1.0.2
2. Activate, jailbreak and SSH using iNdependence 1.3.1
3. Try to make a call

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
When trying to make a call in 1.1.2, if you press a number or RECENT CALLS, it
crashes back to
the Springboard. A lot of people are talking about using iWorld to fix this,
but I can't find a way
to do this while staying in iNdependence. It appears to be part of a bigger
jailbreak system.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
iPhone 1.1.2, older iBook G4, iTunes 7.5, iNdependence 1.3.1

Please provide any additional information below.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Success! I was able to fix it by using iNdependence to put INSTALLER on my
iPhone.
I got it from a friend. From there I could install iWorld and sure enough,
everything works perfectly!

Great work everyone!

Cheers,

Jim

The main trick is getting hold of INSTALLER outside of JAILBREAKME.

A friend of mine already had INSTALLER so he emailed it to me. I could then use
iNdependence to put it on using the CUSTOMIZE tab.

1. Get INSTALLER (give me your email address and I'll give it to you)
2. Connect iPhone and open iNdependence
3. Go to CUSTOMIZE
4. Select APPLICATIONS/USER APPLICATIONS
5. Press ADD (top right of screen)
6. Find INSTALLER on your hard drive
7. put in the IP address of your phone and password and you're done.

When you have INSTALLER on your phone, go to SOURCES (bottom right of toolbar),
tap
EDIT (top right) then ADD (top left) and enter
HTTP://CONCEITEDSOFTWARE.COM/IPHONE
If it works, when you go back to INSTALL (bottom left of toolbar) you should
see a
new folder called TWEAKS (1.1.2). Inside it is iWorld. Install it and go back
to
the springboard to launch it. It is then as simple as selecting the country
you are in!

That's it.

It also allows you to install all kinds of cool apps. I'm running a multi-page
springboard now with all kinds of apps on it.

Let me know if you need help. It's pretty straight forward when you do it step
by step.

would love to, but don't want to be accused of "distributing" other's work.

Happy to provide it privately, but the owners clearly don't want it floating
around or they would have done it
themselves.

I'm writing this on my iPhone from Australia using 1.1.2! All functions
working. Even getting SMS alerts
when voicemail comes in, something I didn't get in 1.0.2.
Your address gets truncated, comes up as lang.eu...@mac.com. Not sure where to
send. Sorry if I'm
missing something obvious, I need sleep.

Just finished it: It's working perfectly. Thank you very much. Would be nice to
integrate iWorld in iNdependece.
Again, thank you.

When I try to install AppTapp Installer 3.1 onto my iPhone using
iNdenpendence/customize, I get the
message "Failed, root password is incorrect." I checked the IP address and it
is correct and I'm using the
original password "dottie" which I've never changed. FYI, my iPhone is at
1.1.2 (upgraded) and I'm using Mac
10.5.1.

Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?

When this happens I usually go change the password using iNdependence (SSH tab)
to
something familiar. Even though you haven't changed it, I've noticed that it
gets
confused sometimes...
