main script execution failed #423

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. restore iPhone bootoader 3.9 to 1.1.3 or upgrade from 1.1.1. to 1.1.4 then
for both use
INdependence 1.4
2. Everything runs fine, then install installer.app via INdependence (with SSH)
3. try to install ANY package from Installer.app, won't work. Always get "Main
script execution
failed!" even after applying "777" trick and chmod ug+s
/Applications/Installer.app/Installer

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Cannot update nor install anthing on the phone :-(

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Mac OS X 10.5.2, iTunes 7.6.0, iPhone 1.1.4 then 1.1.3

Please provide any additional information below.

Not that im saying its better. But i just used Ziphone to rejail break and it
put a
working version of installer on. Just make sure to install BSD subsystem, then
install Bosstools to move your apps.

Thanx for the tipp Tung.Luong!

I think I have found a reason why it didn't work.. I will try it in 3 hours
from now. When I had everything done,
iTunes asked me if I wanted to setup my phone as a new iPhone or restore
settings from the previous.
Because at that time I was a dummhead, I told it to restore... on the
www.frenchiphone.com site, it's been told
that this manoeuver can cause some serious bugs.

So I'll drop 1.1.4 again as total restore on the iPhone tonite, try with
INdependence again (cause I love the
program and am sure that it "must be user error"). If I'll succeed I'll tell
you guys. If not, I'll try ZiPhone and
give you my feedback.

If anyone has another clue, please post it!

Thanx a lot anyway to INdependence crew! It has always been a great program,
and am sure it still is...
