Board Page

MVP Requirements:

• Show all sticky notes or items on the board
• Each note displays content, author, and timestamp
• Create new notes, edit existing ones, and delete them
• Reply to/make comments on existing notes
• Users can name or rename the board.
• Users can share the board with other users by entering their email or selecting them from a list.
• Users can leave or delete the board if they are the creator.
• Changes to notes and board content should be visible in real time to all users currently viewing the board.

• Drag and drop to reposition notes.
• Resize notes on the board.
• Customizable themes for individual boards.
• Animations for adding, removing, or updating notes.
• Import/export options for board data.

I think the most bare-bones MVP looks something like:

Board Page

• Always land here, default is an examples page (play around with making notes, deleting, replying, etc) with a sign-up / log-in button in the top left.
• If you have an account, use cookies / web storage to take you to the last board you were on.

  basic functionality

• make, delete, reply notes
• categorize, archive, assign notes to users
• ^done through the UI on the notes themselves, still need to design this in part.
• toggle pop-ups / side-navs for additional functionality

Pop-ups / Side-nav toggles

• ...for all other functionality.
• Sign-up Pop-up --> 'sign up' button to toggle (visible if not logged in), space for email, password, display name, close by clicking out or an 'X' or 'submit' to request sign-up (result displayed on form if rejected, otherwise closes pop-up).
• Log-in Pop-up --> 'log in' button to toggle (visible if not logged in), space for email, password, close by clicking out or an 'X' or 'submit' to request log-in (result displayed on form if rejected, otherwise closes pop-up).
• About Pop-up --> 'i' icon to toggle, explains website, has team info, close by clicking out or an 'X'.
• Profile Pop-up --> 'person' icon to toggle, (if you're not signed in it will be placeholders & some functionality will be locked), choose display name, upload profile pic, default user color, light/dark mode (this is not MVP but here's where it belongs), display mode (this is not MVP but here's where it belongs), close by clicking out or an 'X'.
• Board Pop-up --> 'board' icon to toggle, (if you're not signed in it will be placeholders & some functionality will be locked), see users (and admin / user privilege) on the current board, add / remove users from the board, change admin status of users, leave board, delete board (if admin), choose your board-specific user color (overwrites default for that board), add categories to pool, remove categories from pool (if admin), close by clicking out or an 'X'.
• Boards Side-nav --> '>' arrow on left / right to toggle (small screen can just be a pop-up instead), (if you're not signed in it will just be 'Example' board and functionality will be locked), shows list of boards you're a member of, select board to move from current board to chosen board, 'board' icon next to each board to access that board's Board Pop-up (so can edit settings without moving into it), '+' icon down the bottom to create a board (opens a pop-up for this), click '<' arrow to close back (think ChatGPT interface).
• Create Board Pop-up --> accessed by the '+' in the Boards Side-nav, (if you're not signed in it will be locked, clicking should temporarily replace with a message to sign-in / sign-up), choose board name, define initial categories to go in the category pool, set initial users & their privileges (admin / not), 'cancel' to close or 'create' to take you to that board.
