High Contrast "Normal" Dropdown text box selections appear in grey on black - almost illegible

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install High Contrast extension and enable it. 

2. Open example web page with dropdown text box selectors: e.g.
http://webfund6.financialexpress.net/clients/hbos/Ourfunds.aspx
http://code.google.com/p/google-axs-chrome/issues/entry (Search box)
https://www.bullionvault.com/secure/main_frame.do#!/orderhistory
(needs and account with builionVault for the second!)

3. From the High Contrast menu select "normal".

What is the expected output? 
Exactly as when High Contrast is not installed or is disabled - see attached 
file: High Contrast displays compared.png

What do you see instead?
see attached file.

What version of the product are you using?

On what operating system?
Windows 7 Home Premium
