Subject: [Action Required] An update coming to your what3words API plan
Hi there,
We’re getting in touch to let you know that we are making an update to the features available on our free API plans.
From 1st August 2024, the what3words Free API plan will no longer offer the ability to make convert-to-coordinate requests (the function that enables you to convert what3words addresses to their equivalent GPS coordinates). If you would like to continue to make use of this feature, you can upgrade to one of our paid API plans (starting from £7.99/month). You can learn more about our full range of API plans here.
Your API key will not change as part of this update. If you have any questions about how this change might affect you or would like a chat to ensure you’re getting the most out of your current plan, feel free to reply to this email and we’d be happy to help.
As a reminder, emergency services, NGOs and registered charities can make use of the what3words API for free, and are therefore not subject to our standard pricing model or this update to the Free API plan. If your organisation falls within this category then please do get in touch to let us know.
Thanks,
The what3words team

I asked if they could provide free API access to convert-to-coordinate (Words to Coordinates) for this project, but they denied my request, since this is not registered NGO (Non-governmental organization).
