Please complete the following fields as applicable:

What version of the DMPRoadmap code are you running? (e.g. v2.2.0) V3.0.2

Expected behaviour: Administrative users expect to be provided with a good overview of all functionality of the tool, and what functions are available to the user with administrative rights.

Actual behaviour: For all administrative functions (e.g. adding/editing templates, adding/editing guidance, usage statistics, etc,), org admins are expected to use the drop-down Admin menu at the top right of the screen.

DMPRoadmap has increased in complexity, new functionality has been added and there are several levels of administrative rights. Although the Admin menu is a very useful shortcut to all administrative functions, it does not provide a clear indication of what each menu does, particularly for new org admins who have no prior experience of the tool. The names of the various menu items don't make it clear what function they perform. One of the tasks during the usability tests was to edit guidance. Testeed users would often click on the Help menu item on the main menu. 'Guidance could be anything, including general help on how to use the tool' said one tested user. Another task was to add questions to a template on which users' plans were based and tested users would often click on Plans. One said 'everything to do with plans must be under plans'.

We should be able to make use of the existing 'My Dashboard' facility, which at the moment contains the user's plans. For administrative users, this could be expanded so that underneath the plans, the dashboard displays the full list of administrative functions available, together with brief explanations, for example: Templates All plans written by users within your organisation are based on templates. Edit your organisation's templates' (and maybe even list a few templates, plus a 'view full list of templates' button, it wouldn't be wise to list all templates on the dashboard, it would become too cluttered) Guidance Guidance is information that helps your users answer questions, as opposed to a general user guide for DMPonline which is available under Help. There is some generic guidance provided by the DCC or by funders. As an administrative user, you can add institutional guidance. Edit guidance Usage Here you can view the number of DMPonline users and plans within your institution, the most popular templates. and so on..

Steps to reproduce: It's difficult to examine the Admin menu with a first-time user mindset so it may be worth asking someone who has never used the tool to describe what they think the various menu items mean.
