How is one supposed to 'update' from v2 to v3 lists? #628

Instructions unclear/non-existent....

What is the procedure to update from v2/public-resolvers.md to v3/public-resolvers.md

Do I just download the updated files from this repository and replace with those in my working directory? Do I just modify the dnscrypt-proxy.toml file to contain the urls = .../v3/ path? Am I supposed to do both?

Does this auto update? if so, when?

If you're using version 2.0.42 or older, you need to use the v2 list.

If you're using a more recent version, you can use v3. But there's been a lot of changes since version 2.0.42. So, rather than just changing this, I'd recommend starting with the default configuration file and bringing back your changes.
