Forget my point, we'll have to see if this works though, the MERIS data don't lend themselves well to this type of vis.

We could maybe do a diff between timesteps and have any new features show a spark sort of animation. Also maybe a size threshold.

size threshold may be the easiest, though it would have to be calculated as these are polygons. Could just do every polygon too, but that may get a bit noisy. Hmmm.

My cheezy idea now is to just have a very small ani-gif with a flame pop up on the time step when a new fire appears.

Dropping the fire data on the map
