What could be happening in my sediment model, that by changing values for SAND_TAU_CE and SAND_TAU_CD I cannot observe any change in erosion and sedimentation rates within my test domain.
My domain is the northern Yucatan peninsula, a very shallow region, which has a spatial resolution of 500m and (at the moment) is only forced by currents. The bottom of my model consists of ~0.2 mm sand and 0.02 mm fine sediment, and a single 1 m thick sediment layer.
Initially, I defined SAND_TAU_CE = 0.5 and SAND_TAU_CD = 0.4, then I have increased the values to 2.0 and 0.5 respectively to force less erosion and maintain the sedimentation rate, still, nothing seems to change.
Hi Jhon,
What could be happening in my sediment model, that by changing values for SAND_TAU_CE and SAND_TAU_CD I cannot observe any change in erosion and sedimentation rates within my test domain. The sediment model configuration is:
SAND_SD50 == 0.02d0 0.2d0 SAND_CSED == 100d0 400d0 SAND_SRHO == 2650.0d0 2650.0d0 SAND_WSED == 0.03 20 SAND_ERATE == 5.0d-4 5.0d-4 SAND_POROS == 0.5d0 0.5d0 0.5d0 SAND_MORPH_FAC == 1.0d0 1.0d0 BEDLOAD_COEFF == 1.0d0
Thanks for your attention. I would appreciate any comments.
